Being simple is really difficult. You need to block temptaions of decorations and details and so many others.

The solution is to look at bigger picture. Adhoc and short term measures make things complex.

Yep, I took that away too, and while it wasn't one of my favorite books, he does emphasize Simplicity. I wrote up a book blog on their book and summarized my take-aways, although I wish I remembered it more often :)
