Michelle Mack can speak normally, graduated from high school and has an uncanny knack for dates—but she faced many difficulties growing up. She struggled with issues like becoming easily lost in unfamiliar surroundings, and had difficulty controlling her emotions.

It was only at age twenty seven, after an MRI scan, that doctors were able to isolate the problem—Mack was missing the left side of her brain. This shocked doctors because they couldn’t understand how Mack was living a functional life. After much deliberation, they determined that the right side of her brain has essentially rewired itself to make up for the left brain functions she likely lost during a pre-birth stroke.

Read on to learn more about Mack’s incredible story, and how she is able to lead a fairly normal life.

Human brain is just fantastic. I hope this would give a new thought about rehabilitation of brain injury patients.
