Hearing of today’s tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, many are shocked, horrified and speechless but for the sympathies being sent forth to the families who are experiencing unspeakable suffering.
While we hug our children tight and wonder what to do and how to explain, these words of wisdom from the man who made so many of us feel loved and special may help ease the pain, if even just in a small way.
”When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”
Our deepest sympathies to the people of Newtown and Sandy Hook Elementary School.
