Yelp of churches

Media_httpwwwreadwrit_ncuvu

Check out ChurchRater.com. It’s a “Yelp of churches.” This is a very interesting interest concept that I found through ReadWriteWeb. In a sense, a church is a “business” that depends on word-of-mouth marketing like any other. Now consumers have a way to check out a church just like they check out restaurants.

Church is Big Business. I aggregate church content and load it into digital online retailers. Churches are entering the digital domain quicker than print media. Lot's of .TV ministries raising up all over the place. Stay in touch.

Nice catch. In its own way, it reminded of Ship of Fools "Mystery Worshipper"

Here's the deal, this has been going on for a long, long time in the military community. As a Army wife I have moved every 2 or so years and one of the first things I do is get on a military message board of other wives and ask who knows of a good church at the place we are moving to. The reviews come in, some nice, some fair, some not so much. You take it for what it's worth just like anything else in life but it is still something I do every time we move. We just got to a new place last month, still in search of a church and guess what? I just got on ChurchRater and found one I hadn't heard of yet. Amazing to me that even in this small army town I found a church on this site, pretty cool. For someone who doesn't have the luxury of inheriting a 'church for life' but instead has to re-build their life every 2 years, I really appreciate a site like ChurchRater. Call it what you want, label it unfair if you must but it helped this Army wife with a long list of to-do's after yet another mandatory move. Thanks Jim!
