Researchers at Ohio State University found that practicing yoga could help fend off ailments like asthma, cardiovascular disease, and depression. According to the study, women who regularly practice yoga enjoy lower levels of inflammation in their bodies than women who are newbies to the exercise style. Chronically high levels of inflammation can wreak havoc on the immune system and increase vulnerability to certain diseases. Grab a mat, breathe deep, and twist like a pretzel—your body will thank you.
