1974: Arthur C. Clarke predicts the internet [video]


In 1974, British sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke told the Australian Broadcasting Channel about a future where people have computers in their own homes and use the compact machines to review bank statements, make theater reservations, and perform all sorts of everyday tasks. This future, as Clarke saw it, would be the norm in 2001.
