Beer can chicken coop: Here’s to you, chicks!


When the chicks started growing up, carpenter Matt Pike threw together what was on hand like any good DIY-er, and what was on hand was beer cans.

In ten hours, Pike constructed a chicken coop for twenty out of two 4’x8’ pallets, a salvaged tin roof, $40 of other materials, and complete with shingles made of beer cans.

Methinks it’s time to switch from bottles…
