Characteristics of great logo design
Creating a logo that represents your brand without going overboard on the frills of design can present a frustrating challenge. How do you convey an entire brand message in one little design?
Milton Glaser, the man behind the iconic “I Love New York” logo, shared with graphic design blog Designer Informer that it comes down to simplicity: “You want to move the viewer in a perception so that when they first look at [the logo]…they get the idea, because that act between seeing and understanding is critical.”
Inc. took Glaser’s words of wisdom and expanded the idea out to create a list of four characteristics essential for great logo design.
- Make it unique.
- Make it adaptable.
- Make it appropriate.
- Make it timeless.
