Comic Sans: Official font of the Higgs Boson?


Will the hated Comic Sans soon become Comic Cerns?

It will if a few hundred fans and the font’s creator, Vincent Connare, have their way, but we’re not sure associating the fun font of clown websites and grade school teachers with the recent groundbreaking discoveries presented by the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN even has the power to overhaul a font with such serious image problems.

For font fans, it came as a serious disappointment that Fabiola Gianotti presented the Higgs results once again using Comic Sans, but as Jacob Aron at New Scientist found when he did some research of his own, Comic Sans appears to be a topic of interest to science on its own merit…or lack thereof.
