The possibility of getting a good look at Pluto is certainly exciting, yet what we don’t know is out there could be the most thrilling part of NASA’s New Horizons mission.
Not until the 1990s were our technological capabilities able to find Pluto’s smaller buddies, such as Eris and Haumea, lying in the distant Kuiper Belt, and one of these small targets could be the next horizon for New Horizons.
