Jesus in a Walmart receipt

A couple from South Carolina has found Jesus…on a Walmart receipt. Those deals really get everyone’s business.

Jacob Simmons and his fiancee, Gentry Lee Sutherland, picked up a few things at the discount retailer last month and then forgot about the receipt. A month later, Simmons spotted the receipt on his apartment floor and something about it caught his eye. A face staring back at him had emerged from a mark on the paper.

The couple say they recognized the figure, which seems to show a man’s bearded face with intense eyes, as Jesus.

“We just feel like it’s a blessing that God showed it to us and opened our eyes. And we just feel like we should share the blessing God gave to us to everybody else,” Sutherland said.

I have just entered one comment on the news-article "Jesus in a Walmart receipt" to demystify such occurrences and let readers know that there is nothing supernatural or uncommon about them . But the real motive behind this news item is publicity by connecting 2 big iconic names: Jesus Christ from the world of religion which is 2000 years old and Walmart from the world of consumer business of much recent origin. It is good salesmanship and marketing skill to create such sensational story. I appreciate it. I urge the readership to note and reflect on the use of the phrase ‘in a Walmart receipt’ instead of ‘on a Walmart receipt’ in the subject title. Thanks.
