Just what the country needs, a Death Star

With the fiscal cliff looming, it’s only natural for a citizenry to worry about the fate of their national – or planetary – defense systems, so the voice of the people (of the Internet) is rising to request our nation’s leaders finally focus on what’s really important: Building our own Death Star.

Using the White House’s We the People platform, the petitioners argue that:

“By focusing our defense resources into a space-superiority platform and weapon system such as a Death Star, the government can spur job creation in the fields of construction, engineering [and] space exploration.”

With already 2300+ signed up and ten days to go until the petition deadline of December 14, we have almost no doubt they’ll reach the 25,000-person goal.

Can you imagine the fight over choosing a czar to lord over the national Death Star? We might just lend our support to hear the official White House response.
