A matter of perspective: how men & women see color differently [chart]

As the old saying goes, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” and while men and women may not technically perceive color differently, there’s a big difference in perception when something is branded “pee,” “crap,” and “baby vomit” on only one side of the spectrum.

XKCD ran a survey on color involving five million responses that was then turned into an interactive chart by Von Worley showing which sex uses approximately 2,000 color names.

Though we hate to stereotype, the results are somewhat skewed by gender, with women using terms like Spring Green and Barbie Pink, and men using more, um, graphic monikers.
