This little piggy got a wheelchair… [video]

…and you can bet little Crisp P. Bacon went “Wee, wee, wee” all the way home, or at least around the living space he shares with ingenious veterinarian Dr. Len Lucero and his family.

The tiny piglet was brought to Dr. Lucero’s practice in Clermont, Florida to be put down by his owner since he was born without use of his hind legs, but the veterinarian took pity on the animal and brought him home.

Luckily, Dr. Lucero hadn’t thrown out his son’s K’Nex set, out of which he built a soft-strap harness and wheelchair to increase the piggy’s mobility, and while we’re not sure he could outrun a wolf with the contraption, we’re happy to see his chinny-chin-chin graced with a grin.

A guy in Ithaca, NY built one for his dog, who hasn’t got use of his back legs. I wish it would work for my 15 year old dog, who has lost a lot of her hind leg muscle strength. Don’t think she has the temperament for it, though. Plus, my house isn’t wheelchair accessible, which is almost what we’d need.
